01 Mar Apps I Use: RescueTime–An Update
Why I Use This App
RescueTime is a time management and analytics app that, according to its website, “…shows you how you spend your time and provides tools to help you be more productive.” I have been using RescueTime for several years and it was always one of my favorite apps.
Disclaimer: I am a total Apple Fangirl. I have three Macs, four iPads, and an iPhone. When I write about apps or systems, I am writing from that worldview. Some of the apps I discuss MAY work on Windows, but I cannot speak for that. Except for my Android Samsung Galaxy Note phone (yes, I have two cell phones), I only work with Mac OS and iOS.
Back in October 2017, I wrote a blog post about RescueTime, part of my ongoing series called “Apps I Use.” In that post, I described many of the wonderful features of the app.
At that time, the one issue I had was that the app did not work on iOS, and since I worked concurrently or totally on one of my iPads during my workday, the app missed a lot of the work I did.
What’s New with This App
Well! A few days ago, I found out that RescueTime now tracks on iOS! There is a companion iOS app for RescueTime that tracks on my iPads and on my iPhone and shows me what I did just on either of those devices and on my desktop.
The RescueTime mobile apps are so cool. They are very well designed and have a beautiful UI. The mobile apps also update my work continuously in real time and sync beautifully with my desktop app. Speaking of my desktop, I actually have three desktop Macs I work on depending on my location, and RescueTime syncs them all for the same monthly or annual app fee.
As a solo entrepreneur, I do not have employees or a “sales team” (I AM the sales team!), so I really appreciate everything being integrated and the ability to check my apps from wherever I am and on whichever device I’m using at the time.
Here is a list of the many great features of RescueTime. If you’re looking for an app to help you track your time, analyze your workflow, and give you details of everything you did during the day, try RescueTime. I am sure you might love it as much as I do.
